Role in Brief
We are seeking a Risk & Compliance Manager to design and lead our enterprise risk framework and regulatory compliance structure. This role is central to ensuring that the Fund’s operational, investment, market, and regulatory risks are actively monitored, well-documented, and strategically managed.
You will serve as the internal lead for risk governance, NAV oversight risk, AML/KYC adherence, and fund structure risk reviews, while supporting audit readiness, investor due diligence, and cross-border compliance. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a practical ability to build risk systems from the ground up in a growing fund environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Design and implement Opportunik’s enterprise risk framework across fund and advisory functions.
- Identify and monitor risk exposures across portfolios, trading strategies, liquidity, valuation, and investor onboarding.
- Establish and update Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and enforce exposure thresholds per sub-fund strategy.
- Conduct regular stress tests, scenario analyses, and liquidity risk assessments based on NAV volatility, redemption risk, and asset-class composition.
- Review sub-fund allocation methodologies to ensure alignment between model portfolios and actual investment allocations.
Compliance Oversight
- Oversee AML/KYC compliance, including look-through KYC for pooled investors and verification of source of funds and source of wealth as per risk level.
- Ensure timely preparation of AMLRO reports and periodic compliance submissions to CIMA and FSC.
- Maintain investor risk profiles, transaction monitoring systems, and escalation procedures for high-risk cases.
- Review fund documentation (PPM, Subscription Agreements, NAV Policy) to ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
Governance, Valuation & NAV Integrity
- Support NAV accuracy by collaborating with Fund Accounting on control procedures, reconciliation reviews, and valuation risk governance.
- Review pricing methodologies for hard-to-value assets and ensure audit trails are maintained.
- Evaluate the fairness of early redemptions and performance allocations as part of equity checks.
Risk Culture Enablement
- Champion a risk-aware culture by embedding compliance thinking into operational, investment, and technology decisions.
- Conduct internal risk and compliance training as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk, Economics, Law, or a related discipline; FRM, CFA, PRM, or ICA compliance certification preferred.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in fund risk or compliance roles, ideally in a regulated, multi-asset fund structure.
- Knowledge of Cayman and Mauritius fund regulations, AML regimes, and cross-border fund governance.
- Practical understanding of fund NAV structures, pricing risk, liquidity stress, and valuation controls.
- Familiarity with pooled structures and sub-fund performance attribution is a strong advantage.
