Role in Brief
Opportunik Advisory Ltd seeks an Equities Trader to execute trades, analyze market trends, and optimize portfolio performance while ensuring compliance with risk management policies. This role is integral to Opportunik’s mission of providing Africans and Africans in the diaspora access to global investment opportunities through strategic equity trading.
The Equities Trader will be responsible for executing trades efficiently, identifying investment opportunities, and collaborating with research analysts and portfolio managers. They will also manage risk exposure, maintain trade documentation, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Mode of Engagement
Full-time with a probation period of 6 months.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute equity trades efficiently while ensuring alignment with investment objectives.
- Analyze market trends, price movements, and financial reports to identify trading opportunities.
- Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize portfolio performance.
- Support Opportunik’s mission by facilitating African investors’ access to global equity markets.
- Collaborate with research analysts and portfolio managers to refine investment strategies.
- Monitor and manage risk exposure to ensure adherence to trading policies and market regulations.
- Execute trades across various global exchanges while optimizing trade execution strategies.
- Utilize trading platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or other financial tools for market analysis and trade execution.
- Maintain accurate trade records, generate performance reports, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Stay updated on global economic trends, financial regulations, and industry developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in equity trading, investment management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of equity markets, order execution, risk management, and trading strategies.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and financial market analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance in trading and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CIS, or ACCA (or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Experience in proprietary trading, asset management, or brokerage firms.

Experience and Qualifications
- A degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or any relevant field
