People & Culture Manager

Role in Brief
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on People and Culture Manager to lead our global people operations.
You will be responsible for fostering a thriving culture, driving people-centered strategies, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. From recruitment and performance to employee experience and regulatory compliance, you’ll play a key role in shaping the employee journey at Opportunik.
About Opportunik Global Fund & Advisory
Opportunik Global Fund is a Cayman Islands licensed and Mauritius administered fund management company, with a mission to unlock prosperity for Africans through alternative investments.
Its Advisory affiliate (Opportunik Advisory) uses complex data, research and technical analyses to advise private clients (retail and institutions) on global asset classes with upside potential. It also receives and executes capital raise mandates across Africa.

Key Responsibilities
1. Culture & Engagement
- Champion a vibrant, inclusive, and performance-driven culture across all teams and locations.
- Develop and implement employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and team-building activities.
- Lead internal communications to ensure transparency, alignment, and feedback across the organization.
2. Global HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage and continuously improve core HR processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and employment regulations across Nigeria, Mauritius, Kenya, and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Maintain and manage HR systems, employee records, and documentation in line with global data privacy and employment standards.
- Collaborate with external consultants for local compliance and HR advisory support where needed.
3. Performance & Development
- Lead performance review cycles, tracking KPIs, feedback, and growth plans
- Working closely with the team leads to identify learning and development opportunities.
- Own the employee progression framework and career pathing initiatives.
4.Talent Management & Recruitment
- Support the end-to-end recruitment process to attract and retain top talent across geographies.
- Lead employer branding initiatives to position Opportunik as a top workplace.
- People Strategy & Analytics
- Monitor and report on people metrics : attrition, engagement, performance, etc. to drive insights and strategic decisions.
- Partner with leadership on organizational design, headcount planning, and workforce structure.
What You Bring
- 6-8 years of experience in People & Culture, HR operations, or similar roles, preferably in startups or globally distributed teams.
- Solid understanding of employment laws and practices across multiple countries.
- Strong organizational and systems-thinking mindset; experience with HRIS or tools like ClickUp, Zoho, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a people-first and solutions-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
